The Arizona Cardinals knocked on the shoulders after the NFL Draft in 2024 because they brought Marvin Harrison Jr. into the team. In his rookie season, the wide receiver then remained comparatively pale, but his head coach already expects a performance explosion.
Jonathan Gannon fueled the expectations on Wednesday in the “Mad Dog Sports Radio” Harrison Second NFL year by pointing out the development of previous talents.
“When the team is standing, these boys make a huge leap from the first to the second year to the second year,” said the head coach of the Cardinals And added to Harrison: “This guy played incredibly well for us, but when you talk to him, he always says: ‘I have to get better in a few things’ and he really worked on it. He looks fantastic at the moment. I am really excited to see how his game is developing.”
In 2024, Harrison only caught 62 of the 116 passes thrown on him. In the Receiving Yards (885) he also only finished fifth under the rookies and had to admit Bric Thomas Jr. (1,282 Yards), Malik Nabers (1.204), Tight Brock Bowers (1.194) and Ladd McConkey (1.149) clearly beaten in this regard.
NFL coach praises Harrison’s use
According to Gannon, the son of NFL legend Marvin Harrison brings the necessary determination to correct these figures in the coming season. This underpinned the WR right after the end of the past season.
“He came up to me – usually I discussed their development plan with the boys when the year is over – when I met him, he came up with me and gave me a piece of paper. I wasn’t who gave him this note. The guy is a professional from the house. He does everything right,” enthused Gannon from his passport recipient.
Harrison has also treated himself to hardly any rest in the past few months. “He paused for a week and trained with various receivers, but he was the whole offseason here,” said the Cardinals coach. “I think he has built up some muscle mass. It looks a little bigger. All of his values are better than then when we got it.”
