Martine Rose is next guest designer

Martine Rose is the next guest designer at Pitti Immagine Uomo menswear fair.

The British-Jamaican designer will present her Fall-Winter 23/24 collection in Florence in January, Pitti Immagine announced on Tuesday. The trade fair organizer did not want to announce exactly where the fashion show will take place.

“I feel very honored to be able to show at Pitti Uomo in January,” said the designer. “Pitti celebrates men’s design that is ahead of its time and many of the respected designers took part. We are all so excited to be coming to Florence, a city I love, for our next collection!”

Rose founded her eponymous label in London in 2007. Inspired by her Jamaican-British heritage, she also incorporates musical influences and her hometown, which she also uses to showcase her shows at well-known venues such as Tottenham’s covered market and Camden’s Dead End. Despite their international success, an underground vibe resonates in their collections. Rose has a strong focus on menswear, playing with silhouettes and proportions as well as textures and fabrics.

She has been supported by Tomorrow since 2021. The British platform for brand development invested in the brand and has since acted as a cooperation partner and global license partner. As in 2017 and 2018, Rose was nominated for the British Fashion Association’s Menswear Designer of Year award and the Urban Lux Award this year. She was also shortlisted for the LVMH Prize and nominated for the ANDAM Award for Young Talent. In 2019 Martine Rose took part in the exhibition ‘Get Up, Stand Up Now’ celebrating 50 years of Black British creativity at Somerset House, London. Martine Rose is now at the Pitti Immagine Uomo 103, which will take place from 10th to 13th January 2023.
