Martijn Krabbé lashes out at Tooske Ragas: ‘So-called expert’

Martijn Krabbé lashes out at Tooske Ragas, who viciously criticized his flash ambition to exchange his TV career for a life as a DJ at the age of 55. “So-called expert!”

It has been almost a year since Martijn Krabbé announced in a major TV interview that he wanted to quit as a television presenter. What did he want to do with his time? Building a career as a DJ. “That’s just playing records. With a dance floor. With all the people standing with their hands in the air.”

Midlife thing

Well, we saw what that looks like two months ago: Martijn was standing behind the turntable in Nicolette van Dam’s brasserie. Looked very energetic, very funny, but he looks more like a parody of a DJ.

Or, as Tooske Ragas calls it: “I think it’s a bit of a midlife thing or something, all those guys who suddenly want to start playing records.”

Another well-known example of such a midlife DJ is, interestingly enough, her own Shownieuws colleague Ronald Molendijk.

Martijn pissed

Anyway: Martijn didn’t like that criticism at all, as he showed this weekend A.D. “I said I was toying with that idea. After what happened (at The Voice, ed.), I didn’t feel comfortable. Again, it’s not about me, but I too have had the most horrible things thrown at me. On social media and on the street.”

He continues: “I started thinking: if I were to do something different, what would it be? I thought back to the security of the radio studio, to what I wanted when I was fourteen. According to the so-called experts, I was having a midlife crisis again.”

Oops, Martijn puts Tooske aside as a ‘so-called expert’. Juicy! In any case: Martijn’s DJ ambitions are already over. “At RTL they continued to use me on existing and new titles. I notice that I am becoming more and more enthusiastic.”

Martijn can be seen tonight on RTL 4 with ‘All Against 1’. “Now with this crazy quiz, but also the seventh season of Buy Without Watching is coming, we are going to record an eighth. I’m working on a spin-off from Postponement of Execution. I am not finished yet.”

Voice comeback

And maybe The Voice will return one day? “I really can’t say anything meaningful about it. It could also be that something new comes along, so that the need for The Voice is no longer there. Then I’d rather get into that new thing.”
