Marten Hørger talks to us about his creative process, the “Feel your glo” campaign and how community impulses shape his music.

Between festival euphoria, community input and creative everyday moments: DJ and producer Marten Hørger spoke to ME author Hella Wittenberg at OMR 2026 about inspiration, his energy and the new “Feel your glo – creating music that moves communities” campaign.

The 20-minute talk was about his work processes, the influence of travel and people and the special energy that can arise between artist and crowd.

About the interview with Marten Hørger:

Music as energy transfer

Anyone who has experienced Marten Hørger live knows the immediate energy of his sets. This is exactly where Hella Wittenberg started at the beginning of the talk. The positive dynamic that his music conveys is not a calculated effect, explained Hørger, but something very personal. His main drive is to make people happy. The energy initially arises from within himself – and music then becomes a tool to pass on this mood.

Constantly being on the move also plays a central role. Hørger tours clubs and festivals worldwide, collecting impressions from a wide variety of cultures and translating these experiences directly into sound. Inspiration often does not arise in classic studio situations, but in the middle of everyday life.

When everyday life suddenly becomes a track

The conversation became particularly exciting when it came to creative processes beyond classical music production. Hørger described how he is often inspired by small, inconspicuous situations. Observations while traveling, short moments on the road or even stressful everyday experiences could be the starting point for new tracks.

He gave a concrete example himself: His song “Worth the Wait” was born out of the experience of being late. Instead of focusing on frustration, Hørger tries to reinterpret annoying situations in a positive way – and to draw musical energy from this.

For him, music production rarely begins with a fixed sound design or a clear plan. Rather, the process starts with a feeling, a vibe or a certain atmosphere. Only then did the tempo, rhythm and sound structure develop. A lot of things arise experimentally and intuitively.

Community as a creative engine

The focus of the talk was also the current “Feel your glo” campaign, in which everyday routines and seemingly insignificant moments are creatively reinterpreted. Hørger takes on a special role: He is the first artist within the campaign to translate community impulses directly into music.

Particularly important to him is direct exchange with fans and communities. He no longer sees social media and live shows as just promotion channels, but as a creative testing ground. Direct feedback helps him to assess which ideas work and which emotions actually resonate with the audience.

At the same time, this exchange often creates perspectives that he would never have thought of on his own. For him, co-creation is not a buzzword, but a real learning process.

The moment when music connects

Another focus of the conversation was the emotional impact of electronic music. For Marten Hørger, a track always becomes relevant when people react to it emotionally and give energy back.

Especially in clubs or at festivals, that special moment arises between DJ and crowd in which music suddenly becomes more than just sound. The connection between audience and artist is ultimately what he cares about.

It is hardly surprising that his music is often perceived as euphoric, suitable for festivals and positive. When asked how he would describe his sound in three words, Hørger answered very appropriately: “Good vibes only.”

Who is Marten Horger?

Marten Hørger has been one of the influential names in the international house and bass house scene for years. The German DJ and producer is known for energetic festival sets, powerful club tracks and a sound that combines classic house elements with modern bass and electro influences.

Through worldwide tours, international festival appearances and numerous collaborations, Hørger has long since built a global fan base. His style moves between peak-time energy, humor and maximum euphoria – always with a clear focus on dance floors and community moments.

It was precisely this mix that made him the right conversation partner for OMR 2026: an artist who sees music not just as entertainment, but as a collective experience.
