Marten de Roon scores for winning Atalanta and still fights for Champions League ticket | Foreign football

International Marten de Roon has contributed with a goal in the 3-1 victory of his club Atalanta in the away match against Cremonese, which is at the bottom of the Italian football league. The midfielder of Orange scored the first goal just before half-time.

De Roon (32) got the ball around the penalty spot in front of his feet after Cremonese had failed to clear the ball. The midfielder, who played the entire match, slid the ball into the goal in a controlled manner. After less than an hour, Cremonese equalized via Daniel Ciofani, who converted a penalty kick. Substitutes Jérémie Boga and Ademola Lookman still gave Atalanta a win, the fourteenth of the season in 28 matches.

Atalanta is currently fifth in Serie A and is fully participating in the Champions League. The four best clubs get a ticket.

For De Roon, it was his second goal of the season in Serie A. Last month, he played an important part in the 2-1 win over Empoli with a goal with his head.
