VOLLEYBALL – The Dutch volleyball women also won the second match at the European Championships in Tallinn. The Dutch, with Nova Marring in the base, was 3-0 too strong against Slovakia.

The set standings were 25-20 25-19 25-19. The Orange was 3-0 too strong for Spain in the first game.

The Netherlands played against Slovakia without the unfit game divider Laura Dijkema. Sarah van Aalen took her place. The women of national coach Felix Koslowski did not get into trouble for a moment during the game. In the first set it took some effort to finish the set. That worked on the fourth set point. Nova Marring hit the decisive point to the ground.

In the second set, the Netherlands also had the initiative and Marring ducked well on the decisive point, after which the ball went out. In the third set, Slovakia made it exciting by coming back, but the Orange finished convincingly against the number 25 in the world ranking. The Netherlands is tenth in this respect.

Nika Daalderop was happy with the victory over Slovakia. “But we are still not playing at our best level. We can do a bit better. But we want to be first in the group and then we’ll see.”

The women will play against the host country on Sunday and against France on Tuesday.
