Marriage at first sight 7: the 6 new singles and when it starts

IS all ready for the first episode of Marriage at first sight 7. Due to Wednesday February 1st on Discovery+ and from 8 March on real-timeclearly. The contestants are always 6 singles who marry a perfect stranger (identified for them by a team of experts)but the big news this season is that couples all marry together.

Same post: a month together as real husband and wife (also from a legal point of view), and finally the decision whether to stay married or divorce (this choice also has legal effects).

Marriage at first sight 7: who are the new singles?

Let’s start from Matthew Riva, 29 years old, from Milan. He has studied Economics. Now he works in the Bank as a consultant. He has an all-female family: mom and two younger sisters that he has always taken care of. He loves soccer, having aperitifs, visiting cities of art. In his life he has earned everything with his own strength and is very proud of having just bought a house.

There is then Simon Viola, 30, of Viareggio, but of Palermo origins. He manages the family shipyard with his father and five brothers. She likes to play sports, go out to dinner, spend the evenings in the disco dancing.

Gennaro Vergara, 34, instead is from Reggio Emilia. He works in the restaurant industry (now as a waiter), but dreams of being a photographer. He is on good terms with his family, he has a younger sister who is already married, with a daughter. Passionate about photography, cycling and travel. As soon as he can, he goes cycling around Italy.

The gardener, the clerk, the manager

Matthias Benedict, 36 years old from Cafasse (To), he studied computer science, but works as a gardener in the family business. He is very close to his retired parents and older sister who has two girls. Granddaughters that Mattia adores. Among his passions, video games and horror films. He also likes organizing dinner parties and cooking. He loves Scotland, so much that he attends parties as soon as he can wearing a kilt.

Julia Martell, 27, is from Bussoleno (To). After tourist high school, she lived 5 years in London, but recently she returned to Italy, where she works as an employee. She is an only child, she adores her parents: she confides in her mother and often travels, with her father she always goes to the stadium. She loves going to clubs, she does a lot of walking in the mountains with the dog, she likes to read and visit museums.

And Irene Pigneri, 32, was born in Milan, but the family is from Naples. She graduated in Economics, she works as a manager, operations director and marketing manager of a well-known restaurant brand. Her father, sister and best friends are the most important people in her life. She is passionate about literature and art history, she loves shopping and organizing parties with friends.

Three experts pair singles

To decide the pairing of singles is the team of experts composed by the sexologist Nada Loffrediby the sociologist Mario Abisand by the communication expert Andrew Favaretto.

It is they who, by studying the profiles of the competitors, they decide who is compatible with whom. Then, throughout the course of the programme, they provide psychological support and help to manage the new family dynamics.

Looking for love or a husband/wife?

In this program everything is reversed compared to what happens “traditionally”. That is, first you get married, then the couples get to know each other and decide whether to stay together or not. A bold choice for the protagonists involved, who in everyday life find themselves having to deal with habits and emotions, even very intimate ones, to share with hitherto completely unknown people.

The contestants who decide to participate are singles who want to be as a couple, that’s for sure. Maybe, in a romantic version, maybe they really aspire to find love (basically today we connect successfully through the App).

In fact though find themselves next to a partner (husband or wife to all intents and purposes) who, however compatible on paper (according to the evaluation of the experts) may turn out to be an imposed person in practice. In the long run, it is easy for his defects to weigh more and for the stories to shatter along the way.

Marriage at first sight 7there are actually 10 editions

This new edition of Marriage at first sight and the seventh broadcast by Discovery. But the program in total has already reached the tenth editionsince the former three seasons were broadcast by Sky and Tv8.

It is a Danish format that has been broadcast for years in many English-speaking countries (Australia, United Kingdom, United States). It is a great success everywhere. Even in Italy it has a “hoof” of loyal enthusiasts who decree its success.

How did the couples end up? Two had children

The balance of these couple experiments? Scrolling through the outcome of all ten editions, we note that almost all couples broke out. Even those that we had initially confirmed the choice to stay married.

However, two couples were successful. It’s about Martina Pedaletti and Francesco Muzzi: get married in the sixth edition (the third of Discovery +). Last October they announced to wait the first daughter together.

They became parents thanks to the program too Andrea Ghiselli and Francesca Musci. But they had “a torque reversal”, in the sense that he participated in the fifth edition (the second of Discovery +) and the marriage planned in the program with Nicole Soria is over. But then he bonded Francesca Muscicompetitor of the second edition (which in turn blew up the marriage with her husband-competitor Stefano Protaggi).
