The French Prime Minister, Élisabeth Borne, has criticized the Secretary of State for the Social and Solidarity Economy, Marlene Schiappa, that his appearance in an interview in the French edition of ‘Playboy’ magazine accompanied by several photographs is “not appropriate”. Schiappa appears dressed in the images striking poses.
For Borne, this appearance “was not adequate a fortiori in the current” period of contestation for the approval of the controversial pension reform.
“It’s heartbreaking” or “We thought it was April Fool’s Day,” have opined several heavyweights in French politics, including personalities from their own political party, The Republic On The Move, led by President Emmanuel Macron, reports BFMTV .

Instead, other voices such as that of the Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin, have defended Schiappa. “You will not make me say anything bad about Marlène Schiappa (…). Being a liberated woman is not so easy,” he pointed out.

Schiappa herself has reacted on Twitter with a message in which she argues that “I defend the right of women to dispose of their bodies everywhere and at all times.” “In France, women are free. With all due respect to the retrograde and hypocrites”, she has riveted her.
