Marleen (25) survives stabbing at Overvecht station, and honors her rescuers with artwork: ‘I really thought I would die there too’

The Netherlands is still under the spell of the horrific murder of Abcoudese Lisa (17) when a month later, on September 19, 2025, a young woman is stabbed again at Utrecht Overvecht station. Also by a refugee. The victim, 25-year-old Marleen, survives the attempt on her life. To thank her rescuers and to create something beautiful and powerful at the place where she and others fought for her life, there is now a work of art.
