Ilic is no stranger to the club, as he played 71 games for the Kerels between the summer of 2020 and the winter of 2023, keeping sixteen clean sheets.
At the beginning of 2023, Ilic opted for an adventure in the United States, where he played on a rental basis at Colorado Rapids. The MLS club then took him over permanently. However, last summer he returned to his native country with a move to Red Star Belgrade. With the Serbian top club he took part in the Champions League this season, in which he played against Barcelona and Monaco, among others.
At Kortrijk, Ilic will fill the void created by the departure of Tom Vandenberghe to AA Gent. With his return, he will become an important link in the battle for retention in the Jupiler Pro League. KV Kortrijk is currently in penultimate place in the rankings.
