Marko Anttila was surprised at Hotel Rosendahl

The World Cup semi-final teams will be staying at the same legendary hotel.

The legendary Hotel Rosendahl, built in the late 1970s and inhabited by many stars and the head of state, is home to the World Cup semi-final teams.

The hotel is located in Pyynikki, Tampere, on the shores of Lake Pyhäjärvi. The slopes of Pyynikki are the oldest gravel ridges in the world.

A birthday hero flew in front of Iltalehti on Friday from the edge of nature to the parking lot Marko Anttila. The man has one smile.

– Shocked when at lunch the guys started singing “good luck but”. It’s a habit to sing if someone gets older. Yes it touched and felt good. The parents, of course, remembered. At this age, no gift is important, Anttila says.

The players from the Czech, Canadian and US teams pass by. Some come from an electric kickboard, some from a walk or just a little oxygen jump.

The evening sun also came to be enjoyed after the great races played Jussi Olkinuorawho at the same time smelled the feel of his old hometown.

– I was five when I used to move to Tampere. I went to a Swedish school and we lived in different places, Olkinuora, 31, says.

The player agreement suspended the high school in Tampere. His father was the editor-in-chief of Aamulehti and his mother worked as a pastor for the Swedish congregation in Tampere.

– Sometimes I have been looking at old corners in Tampere. Ten years ago, Olkinuora, who recently signed a contract with Switzerland, says he is watching Pyynikki’s eternal huts.

Dozens of autographs

Father and daughter Juha and Merika have been standing in the hotel yard for up to four hours a day hunting for autographs.

– There are dozens of them in the book. Only hard names are valid, Merika lists foreign stars and Finnish lions consecutively in the “Lempäälä” dialect.

At the same moment, the hotel will jump into the car Mikael Granlund, Valtteri Filppula, Teemu Hartikainen and Jere Innala. They are on their way to dine.

Canadian striker Dylan Cozens arrives from the electric kickboard loop of his parents Miken and Suen with.

– Absolutely wonderful country, here is much the same freshness as in Canada. The race has been a great experience, the arrangements are working. Unbelievable this light and purity, Mike and Sue are talking.

– Of course I have met a lion in the hotel and talked a few words. Great location in the middle of nature, Dylan screams but doesn’t want a picture with her parents.

– The puddle is a team game, just a playmate, Dylan sculpts.

Royal, stars

Hotel Rosendahl was completed in 1979 and immediately became the city’s jet set. In connection with it, a nightclub open for the morning was excavated into the rock. The hotel had fine dining rooms and summer terraces.

When the Swedish royal couple Carl Gustav and Silvia came to town to celebrate 200 years of Tampere, the brand new hotel suite was the only right place for them. Many pop stars, presidents and prime ministers who want to get out of the traffic jams downtown have stayed there.
