In the market value update in the Ukrainian Premier League, the most valuable player is also the biggest loser. Shakhtar Donetsk’s Georgiy Sudakov (22) lost three million euros, but remains by far the highest valued professional in the league at 32 million euros.

Artjom Zavodnyk, Ukraine expert at Transfermarkt, explains Sudakov’s devaluation: “The reason for this is not the performance. The latter are at the same level as last season. However, we have seen a decline in market demand for the player. He has been traded for several transfer periods and there are always rumors, but nothing concrete so far. The offers were previously in the region of 35 million euros, but Shakhtar wanted over 50 million euros, which has so far deterred potential buyers. In addition, at 22 years old, he is no longer a shooting star.”

In terms of squad value, Shakhtar only has a small deficit. From 160.2 million euros it goes to 158.5 million euros, which makes them the most valuable club in Ukraine. While in addition to Sudakov, there are also Marlon Gomes (21; -2 million to 10 million euros), Danylo Sikan (23; -1 million to 6 million) and Taras Stepanenko (35; -1 million to 1.5 million) each goes down, Artem Bondarenko (24; +1 million to 10 million), Yukhym Konoplya (25; +1 million to 7 million), Oleksandr Zubkov (28; +1 million to 8 million) and Pedro Henrique (22; +1.5 million to 2.5 million). Nevertheless, Zavodnyk states: “Overall, the current season for Donetsk is not going as hoped and they are performing below expectations both in the league with third place and in the Champions League.”

Market values Ukraine: Plus for league leaders Dynamo Kyiv

League leaders Dynamo Kyiv, on the other hand, recorded an increase of 4.7 million euros in squad value (to 86.2 million). Volodymyr Brazhko (22), the biggest winner of the update with an increase of 2 million to 9 million euros, and Vladyslav Vanat (22; +1 million) are primarily responsible for this. With 11 million euros, the league’s top scorer is the most valuable player in the squad.

Outside of the two top teams, the two new national players Oleksandr Nazarenko (24) from Polissya Zhytomyr and Ivan Kalyuzhnyi (26) from FK Oleksandriya are worth mentioning, for whom it is 800,000 euros to 2 million euros and 700,000 euros to 1.2 million euros . euro goes up.

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
