Market values Hungary: Zachariassen climbs – Dárdai continues to climb

Dárdai still on the up

From a market value update in the Hungarian first division, the Norwegian Kristoffer Zachariassen (29) from Ferencváros Budapest has emerged with the largest increase. Local talent Martin Kern (16) from the Púskas Academy is manifesting his rank as Hungarian football’s greatest hope for the future.

Zachariassen, the driving force in the Budapest game, was initially ridiculed, sometimes labeled as a bad buy, but the midfielder developed into one of the most important, if not the most important, player in the record champions’ team. Even the leap into the Norwegian national team was successful despite the relatively weak foreign league in which Zachariassen is active and although the Scandinavians have quite some well-known competition to offer in the position. Zachariassen has increased by 2 million euros – 80 percent -, is now listed in second place in the league behind team-mate Adama Traoré with 4.5 million euros and is now one of the 25 most valuable Norwegians in football.

While Ferencváros once again dominates the Nemzeti Bajnokság and is approaching the next championship with a lead that few other teams in European leagues can match, the team from MOL Fehérvár is one of the big losers of the update. For years the club has been losing touch with rivals Ferencváros, although they can keep up financially – instead they are even in a relegation battle. This is also reflected in the market values, also for Loïc Nego and Kenan Kodro, who, especially the latter, actually didn’t have a bad season. And yet they too are stuck in the downward spiral of their club. They remain the top duo in the Fehérvár squad, but have lost €500,000 and €300,000 to €1.5m and €1.7m respectively.

Hungary: Former Hertha player Dárdai still on the upswing – Kern’s impressive starting value

Palkó Dárdai, on the other hand, continues its remarkable positive development. After several devaluations after his high phase at Hertha BSC, the Berliner is now on the way up at Fehérvár. A third revaluation in a row, including after a first appearance for the Hungarian national team, brought the 23-year-old winger a new valuation of 800,000 euros.

Also noteworthy at the Puskás Akadémia, one of Ferencváros’ pursuers, is the starting value of youngster Kern. The 16-year-old, who was portrayed in the Transfermarkt talent calendar in December last year, received his first rating based on his first appearances in the professional team, his regular role in the U17 national team and his role as Hungary’s hope for the future: Kern is now listed at €400,000 and thus ranks among the 15 most valuable young professionals born in 2006. At least until his birthday on March 23, he is also one of the ten most valuable 16-year-olds in world football.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
