The Danish Superliga went into winter break at the beginning of December and, after 17 match days, there is a lot of excitement for the coming year. Only six points separate league leaders FC Copenhagen and seventh-placed Nordsjaelland. As part of the market value updates in December, Transfermarkt adjusted the values of all footballers in the league. The FCK is dethroned in both the ranking of the top professional and the highest paid team.
FC Midtjylland’s Franculino (20) replaces Copenhagen’s Roony Bardghji (19) as most valuable player. The center forward increases his market value by 2.5 million to 10 million euros. With ten goals in 23 appearances across all competitions, Franculino is the most accurate professional from Midtjylland, which is level on points with league leaders Copenhagen. Bardghji has not been able to play a game this season due to a torn cruciate ligament and remains at €9 million.
The big winner of the update is Sindre Walle Egeli (18) from Nordsjaelland, who increases his market value 28 times and is now valued at 7 million euros. The right winger joined the first team at the beginning of the year and was involved in seven goals in 17 appearances in the league. Bröndby’s Clement Bischoff (18) also made significant gains: after he established himself in the starting eleven, his market value climbed from 250,000 to 3.5 million euros. Bischoff’s teammate Mathias Kvistgaarden (22) increased his market value by 3 million euros to 8 million euros after ten goals in 15 games, just like Midtjylland’s Ousmane Diao (20), who is now at 4 million euros.
The big losers of the update are Nicolai Vallys (28; Bröndby; 5 million), Stijn Spierings (28; Bröndby; 3.5 million), Rodrigo Huescas (21; Copenhagen; 5 million) and Jan Kuchta (27; Midtjylland). ; 4 million), each falling by one million euros. Former Bundesliga professionals Marcus Ingvartsen (28; Nordsjaelland) and Thomas Delaney (33; Copenhagen) also lose out. The attacker drops from 6.5 million to 6 million euros, Delaney is at 2 million euros after a loss of 500,000.
At Nordsjaelland, a total of eleven professionals around the 18-year-old Egeli were able to increase their market value, so that the seventh in the table climbed to 38.9 million euros after an increase of 15.2 million euros. The second big winner is Midtjylland, where 14 players receive a higher market value and the squad value is now 77.2 million euros. The club has thus overtaken record champions FC Copenhagen, which recorded an increase of 2.7 million euros and is worth 73.1 million euros.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
