In the interim market value update in the Austrian Bundesliga, both the biggest winner and the biggest loser come from the ranks of series champions Red Bull Salzburg. But two winter transfers from Germany also recorded significant increases. For both Bayern loanee Frans Krätzig (21) and ex-Dortmunder Hendry Blank (19), the market value curve points upwards in the update on March 11th. Things are going down slightly for ex-Cologne player Timo Horn (30), who has not been in goal since signing in Salzburg and has lost 200,000 euros to one million euros.

Krätzig, who joined Austria Wien in January, gained 500,000 euros and is now valued at 2 million euros, making him the favorites’ most valuable player. “The German, used as a left midfielder in a three-man chain, has so far stood out primarily because he is often involved in the offensive game and often causes danger,” explains Dorian Schuster, Area Manager Austria at Transfermarkt, about the youngster has already contributed three scorers in his five appearances so far.

Blank, who left BVB II for Salzburg, is rising even steeper, but this is solely due to his transfer fee. According to reports, Red Bull will pay up to 7 million euros for the central defender including bonuses, with the base fee being around 4 million euros. As a result, its market value will increase from one million to 3 million euros. Blank has not yet been used for his new employer.

Once again, Salzburg’s playmaker Oscar Gloukh (19) recorded the biggest gain. The Israeli, who has been linked with a move to Aston Villa, among other things, increases his market value by a further 5 million euros to 20 million euros, making him now his country’s most valuable player. The attacking midfielder had already received an increase of 5 million euros in the last update, and now he has achieved another new personal best.

Market value update Bundesliga: Grazer Biereth, Lavalée and Horvat on the rise

There are also some changes at pursuer Sturm Graz: Winter signing Mika Biereth (21) shone in his first games for the Styrians, the loan from Arsenal is therefore upgraded from 650,000 euros to 3 million euros – the second largest plus in the update. Dimitri Lavalée (27; from 1.5 to 2.5 million euros) and Tomi Horvat (24; from 2 to 3 million euros) are also going up. The red pencil, however, is assigned to the attackers Szymon Wlodarczyk (21) and William Böving (21), who have not played a major role in the spring so far and have primarily had to make do with joker appearances. Wlodarczyk is now at 3 million euros, Böving at 2.5 million euros.

Meanwhile, Wolfsberg playmakers Thierno Ballo (22) and Augustine Boakye (23; both from 1.5 to 2.5 million euros) are on the rise. Rapid’s new signing Christoph Lang (22) is also being upgraded; the ex-Hartberger made a direct impact in Hütteldorf and increased his valuation from one million to 1.8 million euros.

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this will be here listed. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for a detailed definition of market value).
