Transfermarkt has updated the market values of 869 players from the Argentine Torneo Apertura. Adjustments were made particularly at the top of the ranking: Milton Delgado from Boca Juniors rose by 3 million to 10 million euros, making him the most valuable player in the league.

The 20-year-old young international player is followed by a trio with a valuation of 9 million euros each: Delgado’s teammate Tomás Aranda (Boca), Tobías Andrada (Vélez Sarsfield) and Santiago Beltrán (River Plate). Kendry Páez, who was loaned to River Plate from Chelsea, and Kevin Lomónaco from Independiente recorded a loss of one million euros each to now 8 million euros.
Páez continues to struggle with adjustment difficulties in Argentina. “It was also downgraded in the last update in the spring,” explains Argentina expert Scott Christensen, Area Manager for South America. “Páez came from one of Europe’s top five leagues to get playing time. But when he played, he didn’t perform. He has a strong personality for his age; he tries to get involved in the attack and is a good dribbler. Although he is only 18 years old, he has already had a few spells under his belt. River is his fourth club, but he hasn’t played much in Europe. He still struggles to find his place at River and is usually not in the starting line-up.”
About Lomónaco, Christensen says: “He peaked early in 2025. That’s why there was no move to a top league, and at 24 he’s still playing in Argentina. That’s pretty ‘old’ for a player in an export country. Rumors are now linking him with a move to Real Betis or Real Oviedo; I think there’s a chance Independiente could sell him in this transfer window.”
Market values Argentina: Boca stars on the rise – plus for Andrada
At Boca, the news is more positive as a result of the TM update: both MVP Delgado and the rising star Aranda can look forward to a plus. “Delgado is a young midfielder who managed to secure a place in the starting eleven despite competition from Leandro Paredes, Ander Herrera (-100,000 to 500,000) and Santiago Ascacíbar (-1.5m to 5.5m),” said Christensen. “He is a player who always performs. Although he is small, he always positions himself well. Boca have received offers of seven to eight million euros in the last two transfer windows but have always refused to sell. They want to see him further develop his potential. He is also on Argentina’s 55-man squad list for the World Cup, which could further increase his value.”
Aranda saw a massive jump from 800,000 to 9 million euros. This is the biggest increase ahead of Rivers goalkeeper Santiago Beltrán (+1.5 to 9 million). “Aranda is an up-and-coming talent who just started playing a few months ago and is showing some outstanding performances,” explains Christensen. “He’s really talented. Especially when it comes to breaking through the ranks with the ball at his feet. He’s already a regular at Boca, even though he’s only 18. He’s very good at finding space and initiating attacks – often with through passes and dribbling. Like Delgado, he’s part of Argentina’s 55-man squad for the World Cup.”
Market values Argentina: Bayern target Andrada among winners
Tobías Andrada from Vélez is also one of the most valuable professionals in the league. The 19-year-old defensive midfielder increased his market value from 3 million to 9 million euros. “He is a versatile player,” says Christensen, adding: “He has played as a defensive midfielder, as a midfielder, as an attacking midfielder, as a right midfielder and even as a right winger. His characteristics make him an attractive target for European clubs, as he is one of those box-to-box players who has excellent physical qualities and shows clarity in every aspect of the game. Rumors link him with a move to Bayern Munich.”

This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
