Mark Ruffalo had clear words for Donald Trump on the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening. The actor was asked about his pin, which read “Be Good.”

He explained that he wore it in honor of Renee Nicole Good, who was shot and killed by an ICE agent last week.

“This is for Renee Nicole Good, who was murdered,” Ruffalo told reporters. He continued his outrage at the current situation in the US, declaring: “We have a vice president who is lying about what is happening. We are in the middle of a war with Venezuela, which we illegally attacked.”

Sharp criticism of Trump and US politics

Ruffalo added of Trump: “He tells the world that he doesn’t care about international law. The only thing that matters to him is his own morals, but the guy is a convicted criminal; a convicted rapist. He’s a pedophile. He’s the worst person in the world. If we rely on this man’s morals with the most powerful country in the world, then we all have a huge problem.”

The actor explained that the pin, which was also worn by several other guests including Wanda Sykes, is dedicated to both Good and “to the people of the United States who are being terrorized and afraid today.”

“This is not America”

“I know I’m one of them,” Ruffalo said. “I love this country. And what I’m seeing right now is not America.”

He reiterated that he would rather attend a glamorous awards show and pretend everything is fine. “I want to be here to celebrate and I’m here to celebrate and I’m proud of my Golden Globe nomination, but at the same time this isn’t normal here anymore,” he said. “So I don’t know how I could be quiet.”

Ruffalo was nominated at the Golden Globes for his role in the HBO crime series “Task.”
