(toskanews) – 20 years after the great success achieved with This is What You Are and the album Handful of Soul Mario Biondi dates Author’s proof (Sony Music in collaboration with The Orchard) his first album in Italian of which he is also the author, composer, producer and arranger.
Mario Biondi, the desire for the mother tongue
«It’s a project long gestationvery thoughtful with perhaps even very extended times compared to what the realization of a project must be, some songs are even 20-25 years old. I sing in Italian because I had a strong desire to express myself in my native language which also allows me to be a little more transparent, more confident, because I am not a native English speaker, very often I necessarily have to find external support. In this case, however, it is exactly one hand madeone hand done, without too many digressions.”
The family as a source of energy
The warmest and most recognizable Italian voice of soul jazz draws inspiration from his life and family, 10 children and one grandchild. Hope is born precisely from the relationship with them.
«Well, they’re definitely there always hopeboth the adults and the little ones, in their eyes I always find the right energy, their hugs, in their way of calling me but I repeat both from the little ones and the adults, some little ones are very tender, they have a unique energy but also the adults when they begin to mature, to find a balance even with themselves”.
The 50 country record and the new tour
The career of crooner led him to perform concerts throughout Europe and the world, with a records from 50 countries where he performed, and with Gold and Platinum certifications of his albums. Now one begins new very long tour in theaters and outdoors, always starting from the heart.

The relationship with Sanremo and the respect for Sayf
He had proposed a song for Sanremo which wasn’t chosen but he still rocked the Ariston stage in the evening of guest duets by Sayf with Alex Britti bringing the Ray Charles cover to the stage Hit the Road Jack. «A little disappointment at the beginning when they didn’t foresee me, but then I have to say Carlo was really very gracious in wanting me to come to Sanremo as a guest for Sayf. When I met him he told me “you saw that we found ourselves here anyway”. Something I really appreciated.”
Who knows, maybe other collaborations with the young man will arrive in the future Sayf which was the real revelation of the Festival. «I have a good opinion of this boy, he has a nice look, he has a nice sensitivityhe is a boy who questions himself, he is a boy who studies a lot, who is committed, who is achieving some good things.”
