The Marimekko Corporation has a new development chief

It was only on Tuesday that the Finnish textile provider announced the farewell to Chief Business Development Officer Riika Wikberg, now her successor has already been determined. Paula Ukonaho will take on the role on June 11, said Marimekko on Wednesday. She will report directly to Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, the President and CEO of Marimekko.

With Ukonaho, the textile company relies on an expert from her own ranks. She joined Marimekko in August 2018 and since then had various management positions in the areas of business development, sales and customer experience. She is currently working as the Head of Business Development. However, Ukonaho is currently on parental leave and is planning her return to the company for autumn 2025. Until her return, Marimekko’s CFO Elina Angar will interfere with the business development and transformation team.

“I am very happy to welcome Paula in our management team,” said Alahuhta-Kasko. “Paula’s outstanding and versatile expertise in business development and transformation management perfectly complements our team and supports us on our growth course.”

Ukonaho’s predecessor, Riika Wikberg, will leave the company on June 10th.
