Marimekko appoints Mikki Inkeroinen as Chief Technology Officer

The Finnish textile provider Marimekko Corporation wants to advance the company’s digitalization with a personnel decision.

On Thursday, Marimekko announced the appointment of Mikki Inkeroinen as Chief Technology Officer. The 36-year-old will take up the post on January 29 next year and will then be part of the group’s management team and report directly to CEO Tiina Alahuta-Kasko, according to a statement. At the same time he will give up his seat on the board of directors.

The background to the personnel changes is the company’s decision to combine its Digital Business and IT departments in a new technology area that Inkeroinen will lead in the future. The aim is to exploit opportunities in fields such as technology and data analysis to increase efficiency and drive growth, explained Marimekko. Kari Härkönen, the previous Chief Digital Officer (CDO), resigned from his position last week “by mutual agreement,” the company said.

Inkeroinen comes from the outdoor outfitter Reima, which specializes in children’s clothing, where he most recently worked as Chief Digital Growth Officer since 2022. The e-commerce expert previously held various management positions at well-known Finnish trading companies from various industries. He has been a member of Marimekko’s board of directors since 2015.
