Marije Knevel explodes with anger at ‘mean’ Telegraaf reporter

Marije Knevel, the daughter of Andries Knevel who spent a while at the desk at Shownieuws, comes out of the weekend with a serious hangover. She had a strong outburst of anger.

What Marije Knevel was so angry about? About one movie by Telegraaf reporter Hein Keijser, who took to the streets for an item about obesity. “Half of the Dutch people are overweight and are therefore simply too fat and that is not good news, because yes: the eye also wants something,” is his introduction.

Mary is pissed

It seems to be a rehearsed joke, because Hein immediately says: “I can’t say that, can I? No no no.” Then he ‘picks up’ and finishes the sentence differently: “And that’s not good news, because of health!”

Not funny if it was rehearsed and not done if it had not been rehearsed, Marije thinks. The influencing EO subsidiary is really pissed off about it and roars on her socials: “What does De Telegraaf want to achieve with this side note by putting this on the site and socials?”

Negative impact

According to Marije, this is really incredibly harmful. “What’s the idea behind it? Making people who are “fat” feel bad about themselves making getting help even harder? Influencing people’s perception that fat people are not attractive? Putting fat people away as ‘unpleasant to the eye’?”

She concludes: “Can get so angry about this. Be aware of the (negative) impact you can have, Telegraaf.”
