Marieke Elsinga has become a walking lament: always tired, demolished and overworked. But if she finds it all so difficult, why do we actually see her in the late RTL Boulevard?
It is obvious that Marieke Elsinga is doing her morning show on Qmusic with more and more reluctance. It is so difficult to combine with her family life that she even called it a ‘K*T-morning show’. She must have her eyes closed in bed at 9.30 pm at the latest, she recently told, but what the hell is she doing in the late RTL Boulevard?
“Why does she do that?”
Marieke is now talking about B&B full of love every night, but the next morning she is just expected at Qmusic. That means that she is very late in bed and therefore undoubtedly angry all the time is stamping through the house that getting up early is so k*t. Why is that woman at all at the desk on the late evening?
TV authority Tina Nijkamp thinks she has no choice. “Why does Marieke Elsinga present Boulevard again while she recently complained that she finds it so busy with that morning show so early in the morning? Yes, this week she does the morning and RTL Boulevard Late Night and why is that?” She says in the Podcast Tina’s TV Update.
No more shows
There is ‘a very interesting explanation’ for that, says Tina. “Because of course she simply has contract agreements with RTL and Peter van der Vorst yesterday in an interview with the AD also briefly announced between nose and lips that studio shows are of course much more expensive than reality series such as Schiphol Airport and Only Joling.”
RTL is doing fewer and fewer studio shows. Peter said about that in the newspaper: “Linear (…) is increasingly functioning as a window for Videoland. That is why we look at the choices for our linear channels more and more whether it can also work on Videoland. That is why we are increasingly opting for reality titles such as Only Joling and Schiphol Airport.”
“Moreover, that genre is much less expensive than large studio amusement.”
Marieke superfluous
Years ago, Marieke left RTL Boulevard to focus on studio amusement, but that is now slowly disappearing. Tina: “You can see in the schedule that DNA Singers has disappeared, Secret Duets are repetitions, I can see your voice is out of the schedule. Instead, for example, the pickle king now comes to RTL 4.”
There are many location programs in its place. “The studio programs go out at RTL because of the costs, because it just doesn’t produce enough anymore, so Marieke Elsinga just worked very little for RTL. Only The Jump has done them.”
Make money
And that means that Marieke is back at AF. “That is why, like Jamai, she is deployed on Boulevard, simply because she still has days left to be filled in. Of course you have to work for your money. Jamai has also seen work fall away by Secret Duets that there is no more.”
“Marieke only does The Jump and you can see that RTL in terms of Adventure Reality opt for a lot of Beau and also a stranger like Nasrdin Dchar. RTL does not choose to focus on Marieke. Apparently they don’t think that suits her or does not want it.”
Boulevard is then the only option. “Otherwise the money will be made very easy.”
