Marieke Elsinga admires the strong character of Yvonne Coldeweijer, but continues to find it disgusting how she uses her positive qualities. “It’s mean, rotten and disgusting,” the Qmusic star fumes.
Yvonne Coldeweijer’s lawsuit against the media company of the powerful John de Mol has earned her quite a few points in public opinion. Mattie Valk and Marieke Elsinga, who work for the competitor, also admire her steadfastness. The Qmusic DJs themselves are impressed. “The lawsuit suits her anyway,” he says.
Power woman
Mattie thinks Yvonne is strong. “She is of course that independent woman with that community who takes on the establishment. This is another story of David versus Goliath. This fits seamlessly into the entire profile that she wants to radiate. Whether she gets it or not: people who love her think it is a fantastic story,” he says on Qmusic.
Colleague Marieke recognizes those feelings. “Do you know what I noticed in myself? I was looking at her and she walked up to that court, she then sat there in that bench at that courtroom and I thought: here is a really powerful woman. Don’t get me wrong: I think what Yvonne Coldeweijer is doing is really terrible.”
Charisma
Marieke has mixed feelings about Yvonne, because according to the radio maker her juice is disgusting. “In that respect, I take her for granted. Always be careful what you say about Yvonne Coldeweijer, because next time you will be the one who is pulled through the juice channel, but I think what she does is terrible.”
She continues: “But she does have a certain charisma and power and the way she competes against Talpa in this case, I think: well, there is a powerful woman there.”
Mattie: “And so it works for her.”
‘Very bad’
Yes, Marieke agrees. But: “I also thought: what a pity I think it is that you use the power and strength that you have and so on for juice. I think she is such a strong person. What a shame that she uses it for something very nasty.”
Mattie: “Yes, it will yield nine thousand euros in two years, Marieke.”
Marieke: “Yes, it benefits her a lot, but it has already broken a lot of things and hurt people. I think it’s a shame, because I see a powerful woman who is building an empire and is now taking on the great Talpa like David against Goliath, but I think it’s a shame that she is doing it for something that really hurts and is mean.”
Politics in
What could Yvonne do with her strong and steadfast character? “Politics, for example,” Marieke suggests.
Into politics?! She concludes: “I don’t think you need to become a world improver, but when I saw her sitting in court, I thought: what a lot of clout you have and what a strong woman you are, and what a shame that you use it for something so rotten that just makes society worse and worse.”
