Marianne Faithfull’s “Vagabond Ways” is published in an expanded reprint

Marianne Faithfull’s 1999 Vagabond Ways will be released as an extended version on March 4, 2022. The reissue of the album will include a selection of previously unreleased demos as well as an unheard studio recording alongside the original tracks.

On “Vagabond Ways,” Faithfull sings about her life as well as her observation of particularly poignant social conflicts. In doing so, she demonstrated a level of self-acceptance she says she hasn’t explored before.

Also, on the album, the singer interprets some songs by famous musicians. These include Leonard Cohen’s “Tower of Song” and “Incarceration of a Flower Child” – a song Faithfull obtained from the Pink Floyd archives by Roger Waters. “For Wanting You” was written especially for Marianne by the songwriting duo Elton John and Bernie Taupin.

The album’s bonus material consists of the previously unreleased song “Drifting”, composed by Faithfull and Daniel Lanois, as well as the demo recordings of the songs “Vagabond Ways”, “Incarceration of a Flower Child”, “Electra” and “Tower of Song”. Also included on the reissue is the song “Blood In My Eyes” which was written by Bob Dylan.
