Billie, that’s the name of the dog that the family bought from Marian in Best. “Really a dreamup,” said Ellen, the wife of Gert Verhulst, proudly in the first episode of the new season of the Verhulstjes.
When the famous Belgian family knocked on her for a dog, dog breeder Marian did not yet know who they were. “I saw a first and last name and I had no idea,” says Marian. Only when Ellen and her sister came to a puppy visit in mid -December did Marian know who she had to do with.
“They can be very stubborn and stubborn, but that fits with the Verhulstjes.”
After the death of their dog Marcel, the Verhulstjes wanted a new boyfriend for their other dog Leo. This time they were looking for a smaller dog, preferably under eight kilos. “Because then the dog can fly,” said Gert in a broadcast of the Verhulstjes. Marian laughed at this comment: “I think it will be a little more than eight kilos.”
The new family member, Billie Verhulst, is a dwarfschnauzer. There are three types of this breed, Marian explains. “Billie is the smallest of the three breeds. The dwarf schnauzer is a tough breed. Marian still gets updates of how Billie is doing. Ellen sends her photos and videos. Marian thinks she will always remain involved with this famous dog. “And if there is ever something, he can always come back.”
