The weekly magazine recalled how the topic of the woman’s alleged pregnancy had already emerged in the weeks in which everyone was talking about her alleged appointment to the ministry and the his relationship with the former Minister of Culture. On Instagram, without making any reference to the photos published by Today, in the last hours Maria Rosaria Boccia wrote a long post attacking the press: “Many times I have congratulated myself for how strong and courageous I was in bearing a load of evil which if I hadn’t had strong shoulders would have caused irreparable damage. After months in which no one apologized to me, although it has been established that I have always told the truth, my name and my story risk being thrown into the public square. […] Is it possible that a woman’s dignity should be so reviled, humiliated and mocked to cover up the responsibilities of others? I’m tired of being other people’s lightning rod. […] Why should my personal sphere no longer be mine and my privacy perpetually violated?” In his vent post he then referred to anecdotes and information that he has never disclosed and which would lead to the resignation of politicians and newspaper editors, adding that he demands respect and that in case he wants to proceed to “dispel the facts in hand all those who tried to destroy me. I will do it for myself, for my history, for my dignity and for all those women who the arrogance of others has tried to belittle and put in a corner.”
