Marco Borsato has decided that he will simply go to the verdict in his fornication case on Thursday. He is not obliged to do so, but, Clarice Stenger thinks: “He wants to give concerts again.”
It is a blood-curdling week for Marco Borsato, because on Thursday it will become clear whether the judge wants him behind bars for groping an underage girl. He faces five months in prison, but the judge can also issue an ‘interim sentence’, giving Camp Borsato time to investigate additional evidence.
For the stage
Marco does not have to come to the hearing, but consciously chooses to make an appearance. “It no longer matters for the verdict, it doesn’t matter much for the judges either. Many suspects are never present at that verdict,” says TV gown Clarice Stenger in the studio of RTL Boulevard.
She continues: “I think it is good for the stage, for the country. That people think: it is respectful, just go there, experience what happens there. I understand that he is going.”
Public opinion
Luuk Ikink also thinks that Marco mainly goes there to play to the media. “That also plays a role for him, of course, public opinion,” says the Boulevard presenter.
According to Clarice, Marco ultimately just wants to perform in full stadiums again. “Yes, certainly, because afterwards he has to give those concerts again and sell them out.”
Luuk concludes: “He might want that, yes.”
