Johan Derksen finds it ridiculous that it is pretended that Eva and Pauw & De Wit are the only talk shows where Marco Borsato can give his first TV interview. “Coming to VI is a moral obligation!”
It will inevitably happen this year: the first major TV interview with Marco Borsato since he was accused of abuse. The singer has now been acquitted, so the road to a musical comeback is clear. But everyone agrees that a major interview must precede his return.
Support for years
According to Tina Nijkamp, Pauw & De Wit is the biggest contender for such an interview, but Johan Derksen would think that is unfair. He points into it Today Inside that he has supported the singer from the start. As early as 2022, Johan shouted that Marco had been punished enough and expressed his suspicions that the entire case is based on spite.
In fact, Johan has even called for John van den Heuvel, who damaged Marco in a very dubious way, to be locked up in prison because of his conduct in this case. If Marco now chooses Pauw & De Wit, the Today Inside mustache would see that as a bit of a betrayal.
Cuckoo
Wilfred Genee brings it up with bar guest Tina Nijkamp. “Tina, would it be a good idea if Marco Borsato joined us? What do you think? Just tell his story.”
René van der Gijp: “A cuckoo!”
Johan Derksen: “Well, I’m curious, for example… I would like to have the number from Marco of that wallpaper company where the ladies come to wallpaper their bare butts.”
“Don’t think so!”
Tina thinks VI shouldn’t count on it. “No, I don’t think he will be here. I think he will be at Pauw & De Wit. The Knoops couple, Marco’s lawyers, are there almost every week! They are there quite often, so they have a good relationship with the editorial staff and editor-in-chief.”
“I think Marco will choose Pauw & De Wit and not you. I have to say: Marco is not known for his ability to put things into perspective. He is also quite boring, so I don’t know if he should be here ehh…”
‘It’s going to be exciting’
Wilfred wonders whether Pauw & De Wit is the right place for Marco. “Would it be good for him? If Jeroen does it, it will be exciting and then it will be very exciting for him too.”
Johan wants Marco in VI. “Yes, but Wilfred, I also think that people like that should take into account the talk show that supported him in difficult times. And then he has a moral obligation to come here. It would bother me, because I think he is a somewhat boring boy.”
Hot bath
It will probably be too boring, says Johan. “John also doesn’t allow him to sing, so we get a second Bouke at the bar, but of course he has been through something.”
What would he think of a choice for Eva? “It is also a risk, because if Eva hates someone a little, she will fillet you and if she likes you, she will crawl up your ass. Neither is good. Neither is journalism.”
Wilfred: “Come over here! A warm bath!”
