Marco Borsato occasionally receives a text from Angela Groothuizen, but he does not answer his former colleague from The Voice of Holland. “You don’t always hear back,” she admits.
There is none smoking gun in the case against Marco Borsato. In other words: there is nothing that clearly proves that he committed fornication with an underage girl. The judge will make a ruling in a few weeks, but in the meantime the singer can count on more and more support, and not just from Dutch famous friends.
‘Hear nothing back’
Angela Groothuizen, his former colleague at The Voice, finds it a difficult issue. “I sent him a text yesterday,” she says Weekend. “And if I had had someone’s number on the other side, I would have done that too, because this is really not good for anyone.”
She fills in the Party indicates that she takes it for granted to make herself heard from Marco. “Sure. You don’t always hear back, but I did let you know: I’m thinking of you. But I also think about the other side. I think it’s an ugly thing.”
Italian
Angela’s sympathy seems to lie mainly with Marco. “It is also so painful for the fans. I can only say: he is a sweetheart, really an Italian. I hope everything will not be too bad.”
She continues: “I find it so complicated to say anything about this, because I don’t know. I think it’s terrible for everyone. No one is going to win anything here. It’s all so painful.”
The sweetest
Angela herself cannot imagine that Marco has done anything wrong. “I have known Marco for so long, he is one of the sweetest, most loyal colleagues I know.”
“I haven’t really spoken to him face-to-face in five years, but I think it’s a horrible situation. This should have been resolved in a different way, I think. But I don’t know. I think like everyone else: What is this?!”
