Marco Borsato will probably not go to Eva Jinek’s talk show for his first TV interview, but to the more serious Pauw & De Wit, TV expert Tina Nijkamp suspects. “Everything points to it.”
It is inevitable that Marco Borsato will give a major TV interview sometime this year about the abuse of which he has been acquitted. After his cheating years ago, he opted for an interview special with Linda de Mol as hostess, but that was not a success. In terms of talk shows, there are only two options: Eva Jinek and Pauw & De Wit.
‘Eva best choice’
TV authority Tina Nijkamp advised Marco last year to choose Eva. “Eva has a show in which a lot of time is taken for someone. But if I were Marco, I would demand that the interview take place on location. After all, you never know what can happen live, you might close completely,” she said at the time.
She continued: “With a pre-recorded recording there is slightly less pressure and that pressure is of course enormous for Marco. Moreover, statements can still be extracted that he later has problems with.”
‘Don’t do it!’
Private boss Evert Santegoeds advised Marco against this, because she can sometimes be a very public prosecutor. “We have seen that with Tom Waes and with Boris Becker, so you can bet that Marco Borsato can also make his mark.”
Evert thinks that Marco might go for a big special with a celebrity friend. “I don’t know. Maybe he will do it on another channel and it will become a separate program: Marco Praat.”
No Eva after all
Tina now goes back on her prediction. She thinks Marco is going to Pauw & De Wit. His lawyers Geert-Jan and Carry Knoops were also sitting there at the table last week.
She says in her podcast Tina’s TV Update: “What struck me about that is that I think that, although they said that Marco is not ready for interviews at all, it became clear that it is not Eva Jinek who will get the interview with Marco Borsato, but Pauw & De Wit.”
Close consultation
Marco does everything regarding this case in close consultation with his very expensive lawyers, and they apparently have good experiences with the program of Jeroen Pauw and Tim de Wit.
“It has happened many times that the Knoops have sat at the table there, so they apparently have a good relationship there,” says Tina. “So I think that Marco Borsato will not do his first TV interview with Eva, but with Pauw & De Wit.”
