Marcell Jacobs won the 100m gold

Marcell Jacobs is the fastest in Europe.

Exasperated Marcel Jacobs is the fastest man in Europe. He won the 100 meters in the EC final late on Tuesday evening with a time of 9.95.

Iltalehti’s athletics expert Arto Bryggare this happened even before the semi-final.

– The assessment was based on the fact that he was in terrible shape during the administration. And he has a tremendously good burst to 50-70 meters, it’s just acceleration. It just gets faster and faster – like Fred Kerley. It doesn’t run beautifully, but it accelerates wildly, says Bryggare.

– Jacobs is strong, terribly strong. The man doesn’t have an explosive start, but instead focuses on continuing to perform, the expert adds.

The Italian made headlines last year when he sensationally sprinted to Olympic victory in Tokyo. A D-shadow was cast over the man. Doubts gained further momentum this summer, when the man has rarely competed. He has repeatedly dismissed the suspicions, and of course nothing has been found.

– In Italy you can get a prison sentence for doping. I don’t really believe in those speculations. Italy is not a banana country. The Olympic champion does not run away from testers. In cycling, the brothers have tried and got caught. Jacobs gets to give samples every week. I don’t think he could get past the testers.

The former long jumper is the child of an Italian mother and an American father. He has lived with his mother since childhood in the boot country.

Munich was only the fourth race of the outdoor track season for Jacobs. At the World Championships in Eugene, he left the game after the first set.

– It is difficult to beat him in the world when he is completely healthy.

The women’s 100 meters saw a real bang when the German Gina Lückenkemper rushed to the gold. The winning time was 10.99.

– If everyone had run optimally, he would have been fourth. But With Dina Asher-Smith had trouble Daryll Neita cast after the semi-final and Mujinga Kambundji was cast at the end of the final, says Bryggare.

For the Germans, the European Championship gold was a balm to the wounds after the World Cup that went miserably.

– It was a huge run. Gina had a great, downright perfect running focus until the end.
