Marcel van Roosmalen is in a house in the forest, does not feel like interviews, but is still asked: can he be poking for an SBS schnabbel? Does he want to follow Albert Verlinde at VI?
Johan Derksen openly praised Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman in 2022. He found their sharp tongue and dry presentation style so refreshing that he immediately tipped them as a potential talk show duo for SBS 6. “You distinguish yourself!”, Johan shouted. He thought they fit perfectly in the Talpa profile of slightly less good television.
New turn?
A year later it really happened: Marcel and Gijs received a summer lock at SBS 6, but despite the commercial spotlights and the accompanying salary, they kept it in one season. Afterwards, the Talpa bid on the table turned out to be symbolic: “Little low,” said Marcel, and the duo returned silently to the public broadcaster.
They are already there for a while, but it no longer feels really fresh: Van Roosmalen & Groenteman repeats each other more and more often and the satirical rack looks like something. Could a new turn as a substitute at today Inside give his career an incentive? Or are they going for Wierd Duk at VI?
Call with Marcel
New Revu is calling Marcel on vacation, and that doesn’t work out well. “Always bad news when you call. Always that bullshit. Wierd Duk? I don’t feel like commenting on all those people.”
He is not at all concerned with the Wednesday substitute from René van der Gijp. “I don’t care who is the replacement of Albert Verlinde in VI, to be honest. Duk is there every now and then?”
“Don’t call me!”
Doesn’t Marcel want? “Whether they can call me? No, because I already have my own thing with Van Roosmalen & Groenteman. Whether that is not possible? I have not thought about that for a second. It seems very tiring to me. To do that twice a week, it seems too much of a good thing.”
