With the current Marc O’Polo Denim – Curated by Lena Collection, Marc O’Polo brings jeans styles with orange fiber, a revolutionary cellulose fiber that is obtained from wood and waste products of citrus juice production, into the stores and on the market. This innovation is outstanding, since no denim production with orange has yet been realized. Marc O’Polo Denim, the younger division of the textile company from Stephanskirchen, has now succeeded in the expertise of a renowned Italian weaver.
“The search for more and more sustainable and innovative fibers drives us. Our goal is to create our most sustainable jeans. From the raw materials to the coloring processes and washing processes, ”says Susanne Schwenger, CPO Marc O’Polo SE. “Thanks to our expertise with sustainable materials, we were able to convince the Sicilian company Orange Fiber SRL to realize this, which is unique worldwide, together with us. For a year and a half we have now worked with a lot of passion and convinced and are very happy that we can now present these special capsule in the stores. ”
The newly developed material is characterized by its extraordinary softness and temperature adaptability. It is initially produced by food waste from agriculture, and thus more sustainable raw materials – which reduces the need for new raw materials. Thanks to a partnership with the Lenzing Group, the orange pulp is processed together with wood into a textile fiber Lyocell, which forms the heart of the next generation of artificial cellulose fibers: Tencel ™ Limited Edition X Orange Fiber.
