Today it is all hands on deck on the energy market. With expected price increases of up to 40 percent from tomorrow for gas – worth hundreds of euros extra per year – tens of thousands of Flemish people are trying to secure a permanent contract at the last minute. The result: overloaded call centers, faltering websites and suppliers who can barely handle the influx. Marc Cornelis (64) from Hoboken was able to sign a permanent contract at the last minute, after a true war of attrition.
