Maradona’s death: prosecutors want to press charges – football

Over a year after the death of the Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona the judiciary of the South American country has completed the investigation into the circumstances of death. The public prosecutor’s office will now apply for the opening of criminal proceedings against seven suspects in the coming weeks, the television station TN reported.

You are charged with manslaughter. If convicted, they face up to 25 years in prison. Among other things, it was determined against Maradona’s personal doctor Leopoldo Luca, the psychiatrist and the psychologist. All deny the allegations.

Allegedly massive errors in maintenance

Maradona was on November 25, 2020 in a private gated community north of Buenos Aires died of a heart attack at the age of 60. A few weeks earlier he had undergone brain surgery. Apparently, massive mistakes had been made in the home care of the former top athlete, who was in poor health.
