Uggs, the trendiest winter shoes of the 2010s, are making a comeback, say the sellers.

In Finland, Ugg shoes were popular in the 2010s, when there were also much cheaper copy versions of the original sheepskin shoes. Is there a new arrival of Uggies? We asked Sokos and Stockmann about it.
– Ugg-type shoes are trendy again. This fall’s trendiest material in the shoes is suede and the trend color is brown, which makes them one of this fall’s fashion shoes. Several different models of Ugg-type shoes can be seen: the classic with different shaft sizes, a completely shaftless slip-on model and different sole thicknesses – the so-called normal sole and a thicker plateau-based model, says the purchasing manager responsible for women’s fashion Sanna Söderlund From the S group’s specialty store.
According to Söderlund, due to the warm autumn, sales of ugg-type shoes have not yet started properly. At Sokos, such shoes are sold by brands such as Shepherd of Sweden and Skechers.
Head of Finance and Sustainability Communications at Lindex Group Johanna Ylitalo says that Ugg shoes have been popular among Stockmann’s customers for a long time, and they have been part of the selection for ten years.
– Ugg is one of the most popular brands in our selection. Especially in the last couple of years, the brand has been very trendy and it has interested people of all ages, but especially young people and young adults. Many models sell out quickly. Ugg’s trend product in early autumn has been the brand’s sneakers, says Ylitalo.
In addition to the Ugg brand, Stockmann sells, among other things, Emu Australia-branded, ugg-type shoes.
– The change of seasons is naturally reflected in the selection of shoes and the brands on the surface at any given time. Currently, there are many shoe models suitable for the autumn and winter seasons in the selections.

Rihanna’s on her feet too
The coming winter is a good time for Ugg shoes, international fashion magazines such as British Vogue, Marie Claire and Who What Wear. Business Insider on the other hand, it was already reported in April that the clothing brands Ugg and Hollister, which were popular with teenagers in the past, are making a spectacular comeback among today’s youth.
Ugg shoes, originally from Australia, are also sold in slipper versions without handles. According to Marie Claire, the slippers have been seen by, among others, a singer Rihanna’san actor by Sophie Turnermodel Kaia Gerber’s and an actor by Sydney Sweeney on.
According to the magazine, Rihanna uses tiger-patterned ones Ugg Tasman Palace slippers. The price of the slippers is 457 euros. Sydney Sweeney, on the other hand, has chosen the cheaper ones Ugg Scuffette II slipperswhich you can get for around 90 euros.
Ugg shoes have recently also been at the center of a legal battle, which has been reported for example Business Insider. One of the original Australian manufacturers of Ugg-type shoes, Ugg Since 1974, has been sued by US company Deckers Outdoor, which sells the Ugg brand.
The word Ugg is considered a generic name for this type of shoe originating from Australia, but Deckers wanted their own use of the word from their competitors. Ugg Since 1974 buckled under the pressure, and now the company sells shoes outside of Australia under the Since 1974 name.
