Spanish fashion retailer Mango has unveiled a new denim collection which the brand says has been developed based on circular criteria to make the garments easier to use and recycle.
With this, the company wants to further advance its newly formulated goals from the sustainability strategy “Sustainable Vision 2030”, in which the introduction of criteria for circular design is named as one of the main tasks.
The new collection features various Mango Woman denim garments including pants, skirts, jumpsuits, vests and cropped jackets, both in indigo and black.
Each of the garments was designed to be 100 percent cotton, 20 percent of which is recycled, and elements such as rivets were removed, according to a press release.
In addition, Mango explained that the designs were created using 3D digital design technology to reduce product samples and therefore waste.
On the inside of the items, a diagram explains the brand’s circular design to customers, further reducing the need for paper labels.
As part of its sustainability strategy, Mango aims to continue expanding the circular design of its products over the next few years, either by making garments that are easier to recycle, by committing to durability, or by using methods that generate less waste.
