Mandatory corona test for travelers from China, negative result at Schiphol required

From Tuesday, travelers from China will only enter the Netherlands with a negative corona test. Minister Kuipers of Health, Welfare and Sport announced this in a letter to the House of Representatives. Everyone is also immediately asked to wear a face mask on the plane to and from China.

The cabinet previously decided that stricter measures are not necessary. It has now been decided to do so anyway, so that all European countries adopt the same approach. Kuipers has also asked the experts of the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) for advice. They fear that in the absence of stricter corona rules, travelers from China will travel to other countries via the Netherlands.

Measures KLM

KLM previously indicated that it is taking extra measures to protect its crew and travelers on flights from China against corona. The corona virus is currently circulating rapidly in that country. FFP2 masks are available for the crew and passengers and the crew can use a separate toilet.

The measures are taken after unrest among staff arose. The Association of Dutch Cabin Crew would prefer to see European regulations, but KLM already called for ‘good employershipand take action yourself. Those measures were already consideredKLM confirmed to NH News yesterday.
