According to the “Sport Bild”, Florian Wirtz should be at the top of the Catalan wish list. Guardiola would have loved to lure the playmaker of Doublesieger Bayer 04 Leverkusen in recent weeks. A change of the 21-year-old in winter was excluded.
However, the signs could change in a few months. Wirtz still has a contract in Leverkusen until 2027. The club apparently wants to extend it with it until 2028, guarantee that an exit clause from 2026 guarantees him for 125 million. The 150 million euros would be an impressive sum even for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City. The previous record transfer of the Premier League club is that of Jack Grialish in the summer of 2021. City then transferred 117.5 million euros to Aston Villa.
