Manchester City reached fourth round in the FA Cup

Swindon (dpa) – Despite great personnel worries due to numerous corona cases, Manchester City has made it into the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The English soccer champions with the German national player Ilkay Gündogan won 4-1 (2-0) at the third division club Swindon Town.

Bernardo Silva in the 14th minute and Gabriel Jesus in the 27th minute gave the Premier League leaders a 2-0 lead at the break. Gündogan then increased with a directly converted free kick (59th). Gabriel Jesus missed a penalty a little later. Harry McKirdy shortened for outsider Swindon (78th) before Cole Palmer (83rd) scored for the final score.

In addition to seven City players, coach Pep Guardiola also missed the game in fifth in the League Two. There was contact with Guardiola during the preparation, his representative Rodolfo Borrell reported before kick-off. There will be a connection during the game if necessary, “but he told us that he believed in us”.
