The Hamburg fashion retailer Closed has filled the last vacant position in its management team. On Monday, the parent company Closed NewCo GmbH announced that Valeska Erkens will take over the position of Chief Sales Officer (CSO) on June 1st.

In her future role, she will be responsible for “national and international sales as well as the retail and outlet channels,” according to a statement. Erkens succeeds Til Nadler, who left the company in February.

The industry expert brings “comprehensive expertise in the areas of product strategy, omnichannel sales and brand positioning” and will “drive the further development of Closed’s global sales strategy and further strengthen the interaction between wholesale, retail and brand management,” said the clothing provider.

According to the company, Erkens most recently worked as General Manager Central Europe at shoe supplier Ecco Deutschland GmbH. Before that, she held various management positions at the brands Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger, which belong to the US clothing group PVH.

CEO Dieter Holzer paid tribute to the designated manager. “With Valeska Erkens we are gaining a proven industry expert with a deep understanding of international markets and integrated sales structures,” he explained in a statement. “Your experience will make a significant contribution to further strengthening our sales organization and sustainably expanding the Closed brand.”

With the appointment of the new Chief Sales Officer, the company completed its personnel realignment following the change of ownership last fall following bankruptcy. First, co-partner Holzer took over the position of CEO, then at the end of March the clothing retailer announced the appointment of Christian Werner as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
