The Marechaussee suddenly received a report on Sunday about a man with a crossbow, who would be walking on track 2 in the station of the national airport.
According to a spokesman for the police force, an employee of the Dutch Railways had already “heroically” knocked the crossbow out of the man’s hands when the Marechaussees arrived on the scene. They eventually overpowered the man and took him away in handcuffs.
“There was some commotion on the platform, because other people were also present,” says the spokesperson. According to him, the situation was threatening enough to immediately arrest the person involved. The man from Slovakia was detained for some time, but has now been released. Why he was walking around with a cocked crossbow has not been disclosed.
