Man thinks he is going on a date, but finds three with firearms in the Berkhout parking lot

In October last year, a man was violently robbed of his mobile phone and backpack at the De Koggen car park along the A7 in Berkhout. The victim was supposed to meet someone there with whom he had met on a dating site. But instead of a ‘nice date’ he got a rope around his neck and a gun pressed to his head.

However, when the man arrived at the agreed location around 9:45 p.m., three men entered his car. The victim was given a rope around his neck and a firearm pressed to his head, after which he was forcibly forced to hand over his belongings. After he gave his mobile phone and backpack and its contents to the robbers, they fled with the loot.

One of the robbers is 24-year-old G. van der S. from Wieringerwerf, it became clear during an introductory hearing yesterday. He was arrested by the police shortly after the robbery and has been in prison ever since. At the beginning of this year, he confessed to the theft of a mobile phone in a police interrogation. The other two have now been released but remain suspects.

Whether he will be released early will be announced tomorrow. The criminal case will be substantively heard on April 30.
