In the night from Sunday to Monday, someone died at the Haven in Ridderkerk prior to a collision by a truck. A 27-year-old man from Heeze was later arrested for the accident. The police speak of a ‘suspicious situation’.
Police are still looking for a ‘third person involved’. The identity of the deceased man and the man who is still wanted has not been released.
To run away
Security at a site at the Port alerted the police around half past three when three men ran away from between containers. The men were on the property illegally.
A little later, the police and security were able to arrest one of the three men. So it concerned the man from Heeze. Shortly afterwards, the fatal collision took place on the site. The victim died on the spot: help was no longer of any avail.
