In the Kanaal on the Goirkekanaaldijk in Tilburg, care providers found a man on Monday evening. The man, who was initially noticed by a resident, was urgently taken to the hospital with the ambulance.
A resident heard a splash in the water on Monday evening around a quarter to eleven. From the window the man also saw something moving in the water, after which he called the emergency services. They pulled out en masse.
After almost half an hour of searching, divers from the fire brigade found the man. He was under water. It was immediately started with the resuscitation of the man, who was then rushed to the hospital.
The police are investigating how the man ended up in the water.
