Man flees from rolling car for Heerhugowaard police

A motorist fled from the police in Heerhugowaard last night, after receiving a stop sign shortly before. On the Ietje Kooistralaan he jumped out of the car and ran off. Inquiries show that the man has not been traced, despite the deployment of a helicopter team. The car was reportedly stolen.

Media partner Dijk & Waard Centraal reports that the driver got a stop sign from the police around 11 p.m., but did not cooperate. He braked on the Ietje Kooistralaan, but got out before his car came to a stop and took off. The car continued to roll and collided with a parked car.

The police have searched extensively for the suspect, including from a helicopter, but he has not been found. The car is said to have been stolen, but the police spokesman found nothing about this in the system (yet).
