A 52-year-old man from Geldrop died on Tuesday evening, three days after he became involved in an argument in his hometown. On the terrace of Kaffee Katoen last weekend, a number of people were beaten back and forth. The now deceased man from Geldrop was injured.
In the night from Saturday to Sunday 5 June, a quarrel arose between several people on the terrace of Kaffee Katoen. This argument got out of hand, after which witnesses were beaten back and forth, according to witnesses. Police are not yet able to say for sure that the fight was also the direct cause of the man’s death. That is still under investigation.
Shortly after the incident, the police arrested a 55-year-old man from Geldrop. He has since been released, but remains a suspect in the investigation. The police are still looking for witnesses or CCTV footage to clarify exactly what happened that night.
