Man critical after fight with hockey stick in Blankenberge

A Slovak (31) was hit on the head by a hockey stick. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The police can arrest a man (29) from Blankenberge and a man (38) from Bredene. The incident happened on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

Quarrel in dance cafe

“The suspects and the victim would have had a fight earlier that night in dance café Circosia,” says the spokesperson for the public prosecutor’s office. According to eyewitnesses, the Slovak threatened several people with a knife. He also allegedly injured someone, although this has not been confirmed by the police.

“On Monday they were both arrested by the investigating judge on suspicion of attempted murder. In the meantime, a third suspect could also be arrested.

The man (34) from Bredene was also arrested today on suspicion of attempted murder by the investigating judge. The condition of the victim is still critical.”
