After an emotional outburst on the sidelines, Pep Guardiola shows his understanding. Before the Champions League duel with Leverkusen, he expressed remorse about his behavior.

Pep Guardiola has apologized for his behavior after the Premier League game in Newcastle. At the press conference before the Champions League home game against Bayer Leverkusen, the Manchester City coach spoke about the scenes from the weekend: “I’m ashamed when I see it. I don’t like it. I apologize to the cameraman.”

After the 2-1 defeat against Newcastle United, Guardiola initially had a heated argument with midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Immediately afterwards there was a confrontation with a cameraman on the sidelines. The Spaniard pushed his camera aside and spoke to him, visibly upset.

“I am who I am. Even after 1,000 games, I’m not perfect and I make mistakes. I defend my team and my club,” Guardiola continued. The game against Leverkusen kicks off on Tuesday evening (9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) at the Etihad Stadium.
