A 70-year-old man from Oud Gastel died last Thursday afternoon in an accident with a wrong-way driver on the A30 highway in Boulange, France.

The victim was driving towards Metz in a black Mercedes Sprinter around one o’clock when the wrong-way driver suddenly appeared in a van.

Not slowed down for a moment
On dashcamimages of a truck driving on the other side of the highway show how the wrong-way driver never slowed down for oncoming traffic, even after narrowly avoiding two head-on collisions. That reports the Luxembourgish RTL.

After almost two minutes something goes wrong. The bus collides with the 70-year-old man’s vehicle and another car. The victim from Oud Gastel did not survive the blow. According to his daughter, the man had fifty years of driving experience as a truck driver.

Car ends up on top of guardrails
The driver of the car was seriously injured. The hard impact caused the car to land on top of the guardrails of the central reservation. The victim was taken to a hospital in Metz. The wrong-way driver also suffered serious injuries.

The A30 near Boulange was closed in both directions for two hours due to the damage. The road surface was strewn with debris.
